to the participants of the VII International Chess Tournament "World's Youth Stars"
With pleasure I welcome participants and organizers of the VII International Chess Tournament "World's Youth Stars" of Vanya Somov's memorial, by tradition holding in Kirishi, the city of Leningrad region.
It is necessary to notice that already after half a year after successful end of the sixth tournament, the Organizing Committee has managed to expand geography of competition and, despite becoming younger of the line-up, to provide again the high average rating of tournament that grants possibility for fulfillment of the standard of international master for the strongest young chess players of Russia.
The level of competition, that has become popular, characterizes at least the fact that ranks of the International Grand Masters have been recently conferred to participants of the last year tournament A.Shimanov and D.Lintchevski. I am sure that the chess players starting in the seventh tournament will attain the big achievements in sport.
